Why PROPEL

We don’t just
believe in them.
We show up.

We started in 2003 with a handful of kids and a belief that the right relationship at the right moment could change everything. That belief has never wavered.

At PROPEL, we are People Reaching Out to Provide Education and Leadership — and we mean every word of that. Our coaches, mentors, and staff don’t just believe in our students. Many of them were our students.

They sat in those same chairs. They know what it feels like to wonder if anyone is paying attention — and they come back to make sure no PROPELIAN ever has to wonder that again.

They come back because PROPEL gave them something they couldn’t find anywhere else: a place to belong, people who refused to give up on them, and a family that stayed long after graduation.

He didn’t just find
his future.
He came back.

A kid from Boca Raton who found his footing at PROPEL, Willie went on to graduate from Florida State University and earn his law degree from FAMU Law. Today he runs his own law firm.

But here’s what makes Willie’s story quintessentially PROPEL: he sits on our Board of Directors, investing in the next generation the same way people once invested in him.

He didn’t just find his future at PROPEL. He came back to help build someone else’s.
